Hard economic times spur many people to begin thinking ‘outside the box’ in order to find a way to earn extra money to supplement underemployment and even to take charge of their future as a full time self-employed entrepreneurial business owner.
The entertainment business, in particular, family oriented entertainment, is an excellent option especially in these tough economic times. Graduates of The Ohio College of Clowning Arts earn $100 an hour (or more) and are in great demand.
Hard Economic Times Causes Increased Use of Local Entertainment The Demand:
Families are not taking vacations because of their financial situation and the high cost of travel. Parents and their kids may not be able to travel to an Amusement Park and pay the high-ticket fees, or travel outside the state as they once did, but they will spend money on local entertainment.
Companies will not spend as much on employee appreciation programs as they once did. Spending money to treat employees and their families is still done, but most corporations are looking for local entertainment to come to them as opposed to taking the employee appreciation days off site.
Non-profit organizations are actively searching for ‘fun’ methods to raise donations. Non-profits need entertainment to draw the crowds to them and typically have the funds to pay professional fees knowing the return is far higher.
Restaurants and retail stores use local entertainers as a draw, competing against competitors, for new customers and a fun method to re-invite previous customers.
Families, corporations, restaurants/retail stores, and non-profit organizations tend to book local family-friendly entertainment such as; comedic clowning, mime routines, balloon twisting, magic shows, face painting, and juggling. All of these skills are taught through The Ohio College of Clowning Arts.
